The GT overpass in New Delhi, India, is a 117m-long 6-span curved bridge with big skewed angles. The skew angles between the piers and the abutments are, respectively, 72 degrees on one side of the bridge and  60 Degrees on the other side. The bearing capacity of the foundations has a significant variance, which leads to the uneven length of the piles in the foundation. In order to improve its integrity and seismic resistance, to balance the earth pressure on the two abutments and to prevent the warping of the upper structure, the design of an integral abutment bridge is adopted: the girders, the piers and the abutments are integrated without joints. In fact, there are no bearing and expansion joints over the piers and on the abutments, but only expansion joints behind the abutments.
